Power System Real-Time Simulation using Modelica and the FMI

Real-time digital simulation of power systems is incredibly important for the testing appropriate control and protection strategies in system industry. However, case which one single model can be used offline simulations then realtime studies rare, if existing at all, due to lack adequate standard development industry or adoption successful standards elsewhere. A direct consequence this portability large amount time resources spent re-implementation validation models real-time grids. The present study proposes usage Modelica FMI order address issue. To test proposed approach, are built using OpenIPSL library exported as FMUs. two typical performed dSPACE SCALEXIO™, proving that framework greatly contribute enhancement today’s current practice by providing tractability between models.
